CSUF PRSSA Raises National Conferences Hands

CSUF PRSSA Raises National Conferences Hands

FULLERTON, Calif. – Twenty eight students from Robert E. Rayfield Chapter at California State University, Fullerton PRSSA attended National Conference on Oct. 14-18, 2011 in Orlando, Fla.This year, PRSSA National Conference was held at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld. National Conference is a nationwide event where thousands of PRSSA students are invited to network and learn from professionals in the field. CSUF PRSSA brought 28 members to conference this year, making them one of the largest Chapters at conference.

Every year at National Conference, PRSSA holds a chapter roll call, this is where each Chapter has the opportunity to showcase their creativity. When CSUF PRSSA was called, all 28 members stood up and sang “Raise Your Hands,” a remake of “Raise Your Glass,” by Pink (re-written by Special Events Director Samantha Durbin, from CSUF’s PRSSA).

“I still have that song stuck in my head,” said chapter member Alicia Lykins.

Each member was able to attend sessions based on their interest and network with professionals in the industry. “I enjoyed the Crisis Communication because the speaker was able to engage us and wasn’t teaching us what Crisis Communications was, but instead shared incidents,” said Cynthia Rivera, Outreach Director for CSUF PRSSA.

National Conference also offered members the opportunity to attend a Carnaval Brazilian Masquerade sponsored by Walt Disney.

“My favorite part about conference had to have been bonding with CSUF PRSSA and meeting new people across the country,” Joel Umana, member of CSUF PRSSA.

After National Conference, CSUF PRSSA Chapter continues to keep members involved by planning fundraisers and bi-weekly meetings. The chapter hopes to bring even more members to National Conference next year.

CSUF PRSSA Students Get an Inside Look at a Creative, Innovative, and Award-Winning Agency

CSUF PRSSA Students Get an Inside Look at a Creative, Innovative, and Award-Winning Agency

October 31, 2011

IRVINE, Calif. – California State University, Fullerton PRSSA members toured the unique agency of Morgan Marketing & PR in Irvine on October 20, 2011. The award-winning agency specializes in the food and restaurant industry, and has a test kitchen right in the middle of the facility. Some of MMPR clients include True Food Kitchen, Panda Express, Togo’s, and Wienerschnitzel.

One of the most distinctive aspects of this agency was the test kitchen. It allows them to be even closer to, and more effective for, the clients they serve so proudly. Product development, testing and sampling can be done right inside the facility. The conference room nearby is helpful to host sampling and focus groups which aid in making significant headway on projects.
Morgan Marketing & PR has received numerous thanks and “kudos” from their clients for the work they have done. They have received positive feedback on not only the quality of the work, but the quality of the relationships they maintain. The agency prides itself in the “integrity, ethics, and strong values” it upholds as stated on the agency’s profile. Their various creative and innovative campaigns have achieved solid results and great returns on investment – the marks of an effective agency. They are a brilliant example to look to for a unique and successful agency model.

The Morgan Marketing & PR environment is wonderful, and the CSUF PRSSA students are fortunate to be allowed a look inside the agency.
