(With special appearances by 2 very important Vice Presidents from our time.)
Okay, so it’s spring semester, school is somewhat (if you think positively) almost over. And I know you’re kind of thinking to yourself, what the heck does the Vice President of a PRSSA chapter even do?
The answer is simple. My job is to be there for not only the executive board, but for YOU. Okay, so it’s not as simple as that. The Vice President’s role is being in charge of updating members about internship and sponsorship opportunities, designing and ordering graduation sashes for our graduating seniors, and most importantly being the President’s right-hand-man.
BUT! There’s more to the VP’s role than that. It’s what you make out of this position that will make it worthwhile. Bet you didn’t know these 5 awesome things about being CSUF PRSSA’s VP.
1. You get to plan awesome brunch dates with PRSSA chapters.
Because who doesn’t love brunch? Part of being the VP is maintaining relations with nearby chapters. So don’t stop at brunch. Plan trips to Disneyland, cosmic bowling, and more!
2. You’re like the Mom/Dad to our Members.
Your job as VP is to make sure our members are making the most out of their PRSSA membership. Whether it’s emailing them about volunteer and internship opportunities, or just simply being there as a helping hand, it is your job to care and listen to what our members want.
3. You keep the peace.
Sometimes executive board meetings could get heated and intense. Along with the President, as VP you have to keep the peace and be the mediator when things get cray. And trust me, they will!
4. PRSSA will be your second family.
From getting close with members, the executive board and faculty advisers, you’ll definitely feel a deep connection with the organization!
5. You get to connect with awesome leaders who do exactly what you do!
Take advantage of OCPRSA mixers, National Conference and Regional Conferences! You get to meet so many leaders who do what you do and you can learn with them about your position.
