April Spotlight 2012

Name: Rhiannon Conrado
Major:
Communications with a concentration in PR
Year:First year, Junior (transferred last fall)

Favorite sport or hobby: I love to bake and cook. My favorite foods to eat and make are penne alla vodka and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I also loving making butternut squash soup—it is the best during the fall.

Are you currently interning? Where? Please share your experience: I have yet to have an internship, but I’m in the process of looking for one this summer. I’ve already applied for a few paid internships, but I’m also looking to apply for an academic internship at a few PR agencies in Los Angeles. Currently, I’m interested in fashion, luxury, travel, lifestyle, hospitality, and entertainment PR (just to name a few).

Favorite movie and/or television show: At the moment I am OBSESSED with “Jane by Design” on ABC Family and Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl on Fox, but I am also a diehard Vampire Diaries fan.

Favorite networking memory/ PRSSA memory: My absolute favorite PRSSA memory is when I attended National Conference last October. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I still miss it. I had a blast and I cannot wait to go again this year!

What is something you want to/have gain(ed) from PRSSA?: I think the greatest thing that I’ve gained from PRSSA is the relationships. When I attend meetings, I am always excited to see all the members, especially those who have become close friends. I love knowing that one day, all of these people will be my colleagues.

Favorite PR class: Event Planning and Management (Comm 497T) for the Newport Beach Film Festival—Gregg is the best! Also, I really like PR Writing (Comm 362) because Professor Hamilton is amazing. I really believe that great teachers are what make a great class.

PRSSA board position you are most interested in: Vice President (or Professional Development Director)
