Are you currently interning? Where? Please share your experience:
I am currently interning at two places; Shout PR and Mychael Darwin Omnific Studios. I have been interning with Mychael for nine months now and I love working directly with the director of the bespoke denim company. It’s a total in-house experience and since he’s starting to branch out to the public and I love that I am part of the process. I really see myself grow as we expand our business and strategies. I’ve definitely experienced good and tough situations, it’s always a good learning experience nevertheless. This spring I started interning at Shout PR and I absolutely love it. I love being in a firm, every day is different and I love getting the “in-office” experience. It’s definitely what I wanted out of a firm experience so far. I truly enjoy and love both of my internships and I’m genuinely grateful for them.

Favorite movie and/or television show:
Harry Potter/Gossip Girl/Sex and the City

Favorite networking memory/ PRSSA memory:
The COMM Soiree at last year’s COMM Week was memorable to me. I got to meet people from the Long Beach Chapter and Dominguez Hills Chapter, people whom I still keep in contact with till today. Also, I got to know members from my own chapter even more so. Another memory that competes with this are all the times that I hung out in the PRSSA office this semester, I just loved hanging out with all the board members.

What is something you want to/have gain(ed) from PRSSA? A skill, quality or asset…
I have learned how to be a girl of all trades. Even though my concentration is journalism, I have learned to combine both journalistic and PR skills to help me gain the most out of my internships and experiences. PRSSA helped me get both my internships and I am eternally grateful for all the networking opportunities and skills/tips that we learn through workshops we host. PRSSA is an organization I am proud to represent and I always encourage others to join. It’s one of the top organizations on campus in my opinion, than others I’ve been/experienced.          Whether you’re a PR, Journalism or Entertainment Studies concentration, PRSSA teaches you irreplaceable skills you need to be a Communications Industry Pro.

Favorite PR class:
Haven’t taken any! My PR internships are my best real-life learning experiences!
