Are you currently interning? Where? Please share your experience:
I am currently interning at Huntington Beach Culture Magazine. It is such a great experience because the magazine is very new so I get a lot of hands on work. I am published in the magazine as assistant editor and I also help with the PR for the events that the magazine hosts. It truly stretches me because I am the only one in the office with PR training.
Last year I interned at Mark Beamish Waterproofing where I was in charge of community relations. At this internship I planned, promoted, and executed a charity event that raised over $12,000. This event bridged the gap between the company and its clients.
Favorite movie and/or television show:
My favorite television show is “How I Met Your Mother”
Favorite networking memory/ PRSSA memory:
My favorite PRSSA/networking memory is National Conference 2011 in Orlando, Florida. It really stretched me out of my comfort zone, helped me make amazing new friends, and advance my education and career knowledge for the future.
What is something you want to/have gain(ed) from PRSSA? A skill, quality or asset…
I feel like PRSSA has given me excellent networking skills. I have learned how to talk to professionals and carry myself well. This has also helped me improve my interviewing skills.
Favorite PR class:
Comm Law, it was so different than everything else I had learned and I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed the class.
PRSSA board position you are most interested in:
I would be most interested in the outreach director. I love meeting new people and getting them interested and connected.
