Name: Nadia Haidar
Major: Communication – Public Relations
Favorite sport or hobby:
I enjoy photography, traveling and giving back to my community.
Are you currently interning? Where? Please share your experience:
Practice Builders, Irvine, CA
Practice Builders is a marketing firm that works with medical practices. During my internship experience I have learned so much. I write posts for social media platforms and collect publicity materials. Next, I will be working on a PR strategy. I thank CSUF because several courses have helped me execute every day tasks at my internship.
Favorite movie and/or television show:
I have so many favorite movies. To list a few, City of God, Pulp Fiction, Swiss Family Robinson, Sandlot and Mean Girls. I don’t have that much time for television, but when I do, I tune into CSI Las Vegas, Family Guy and anything on Animal Planet.
Favorite networking memory/ PRSSA memory:
My favorite PRSSA memory was helping out at last years Comm Week 2011. I was able to meet and listen to so many great speakers. It was also a great way to bond with my fellow PRSSA members. I am looking forward to this year’s Comm Week 2012!
What is something you want to/have gain(ed) from PRSSA? A skill, quality or asset…
From PRSSA I have gained so much valuable knowledge about the different types and professions in Public Relations. I have strengthened my ability to network, both inside and outside of our PRSSA chapter and have made great connections that I will continue to keep throughout life.
Favorite PR class:
My favorite PR class would be Public Relations Writing 362 with Professor Gaschen. I learned so much in this class. The 9/11 Memorial press kit we worked on in class is a great piece to add to my portfolio. Another great class that I am currently taking is, Public Relations Management 464, with Dr. Swanson and Professor Evanow. Our student-run ad agency called, PRactical ADvantage, provides hands experience working with real clients to build campaigns.
PRSSA board position you are most interested in:
Unfortunately, since I am graduating in May 2012, I am unable to run for a board position. When I did run for a position last year, I ran for Administrative Director.
